Kaleidoscope

"At the height of laughter, the universe is flung into a kaleidoscope
of new possibilities."

Courage, Patience, and Faith

"Have courage for the great sorrows of life                                                                                            and patience for the small ones;
and when you have laboriously accomplished your daily task,
go to sleep in peace.
God is awake."

Life and Flowers...

"If the day and night be such that you greet them with joy, and life emits a fragrance like flowers and sweet-scented herbs, is more elastic, more immortal - that is your success. All nature is your congratulation, and you have cause momentarily to bless yourself."

                                                                                                   ~Henry David Thoreau, Walden

Count Your Blessings

"Count your blessings. Once you realize how valuable you are and how much you have going for you, the smiles will return, the sun will break out, the music will play, and you will finally be able to move forward the life that God intended for you with grace, strength, courage, and confidence.”

Wise words, indeed, from Og Mandino.  I should have heeded his advice earlier.

Not too long ago, I used to do the exact opposite.  I count my everyday misfortunes.  I was full of negativity. Saying that I was not happy is an understatement.  I was miserable. I was hopeless.  I was doomed.

I'm glad and grateful that episode of my life is over.  Now, I can afford to truly, genuinely smile and laugh.  I also have a valid excuse to show off my dimples too.

Every time I'm feeling down, I just to what I have to do, count my blessings, that is.  I actually keep track of the good things that come my way each day. Today, whenever life throws me a lemon, I choose to make lemonade.  (I sometimes get salt and a bottle of tequila, too!)  I've managed to get by, be happy, and be hopeful by taking stock of all the wonderful things that come my way.

I've learned to chase away my doubts.  Whenever I am swamped with problems, I encourage myself by saying that all things, good and bad, come to pass.  Whenever I come across a road block I can't hurdle, I take a detour.  Things always turn out just fine, even better.

I can truly say that my faith has gone stronger.  All the burden I can't carry, I've entrusted all to the Lord.  He is good, and He accomplishes great things in His time.

Painted Sky

At sunset, rich, lovely hues decorate the sky. On a clear, fine day, an enticing show of fascinating colors is revealed just before the darkness sets in.

Let's yearn for our lives to end this way. A wonderful play of hues and shapes, of swirls and pigments, of fulfilled dreams, love, and happiness should cap our twilight years.

Let not the rain and sorrows of life becloud the passage of our days.

A serene sunset, abounding in colors, is best remembered and cherished.  It also gives hope and inspiration to those we shall leave behind.

God Whispers

I checked my email early this morning and, amongst all the messages in my inbox, decided to open the message from God Whispers Club first.  Here's what it says:

         "Dear my beloved child,

I never promised that there would never be trials in your life.
But I promised that I would give you peace. Not simply a feeling of peace.
But the real peace found in my love for you.

         Your refuge,

         GOD

P.S. If your eyes keep looking at external circumstances,
you'll always be insecure. Fix your eyes on my commitment for you.
Only then will you have peace."

It was a very apt message, indeed.  I'm afraid I was veering towards Worry-Wart Avenue again (definitely not good!)  The message served as a warning sign.

So I decided to start the day with great hopes and the renewed belief that if God brings me to it, He'll see me through it.  My day turned out absolutely fabulous!  Great unexpected news, I received throughout the day.

Well, a new day awaits tomorrow! I'm sure it will also be full of small miracles!
